TheraCem is a dual-cured, calcium and fluoride-releasing, self-adhesive resin cement indicated for luting crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and posts (prefabricated metal/non-metal/fibre posts).
On Zirconia - No adhesive or zirconia primer necessary
On PFM - Bonds directly to the metal substrate
On Porcelain - If Theracem is used on porcelain – use a silane.
On Posts & RCT - TheraCem is opaque making it excellent for blocking out posts, root canal treated teeth and dark stump.
If the dentist wants less opaque – use Duo-Link, but bond it.
THE POWER IS IN THE KEY INGREDIENT MDP - ONLY 2 CEMENTS CURRENTLY CONTAIN MDP
TheraCem contains sufficient MDP so it bonds to Zirconia without any additional primers.
Panavia contains a lesser amount of MDP and Clinicians should use Z Prime Plus Zirconia Primer to achieve suitable bond strength to Zirconia
While Rely X Unicem, Maxcem, and Fuji Plus are ‘All-In-One-Products’ they are not in the same class as Theracem.
Only TheraCem has calcium ions prevent secondary caries and is non-corrosive to implants.
Respectively Panavia is a trademark of Kuraray, Unicem trademark of 3M, Maxcem trademark Kerr, Fuji Plus trademark GC
